This year we made a cat face.  Josie and I were very proud of how it turned out!

Walden Farm Field Trip

Happy Fall!!!
Josie goes to preschool 2 days a week at Crieve Hall Church of Christ.  Today, they had a field trip to a pumpkin patch.   We started our tour with a hayride around the farm.  During the hayride, we played "I Spy" with a list of things we were supposed to look for:  a cowboy hat, a spider, candy corn, a girl scarecrow, a white pumpkin, etc.  Next, our class got to play in the Hay Bale Maze, which the kids really enjoyed.  It was set up inside a barn and ended with a slide.  Then we got to play in the corn crib and then see some animals.  The piglets were Josie's favorite.  They were eating, and one of them had climbed up on top of the other two in order to reach the food.  Josie got to pick 2 pumpkins (one for her and one for me).  Then we made our way through the corn maze and finished up our tour pumping water from the well.  It was all a lot of fun and we had a great time!

Pumpkins & GW's Fall Fest

At the pumpkin patch on Tuesday, Josie picked out some little pumpkins to take home.  We decided to glue foam, eyes and pipe cleaners on them to decorate them.  Her favorites are the bats.

Baby Bat (because it's smaller)

Today was our church's Fall Fest.  Granny White does this on a Saturday in October as a community outreach event.  Every year there's free food, inflatables, a petting zoo, car show, and face painting.  This year we had live music and a train for the kids (which was a big hit!).   Josie had a great time playing in the bouncy house and on the huge slide.  She also got her face painted and asked them to paint a pig (even though they offered princesses, butterflies and flowers.  Sometimes she is so random....).   I had signed up to help with the greeting station and she was my little helper for a bit.  It was a lot of fun and we had a TON of visitors!

Lannom Farms, The Pumpkin Place

While on Fall Break this week, we took the opportunity to go the Lannom Farm Pumpkin Patch with my sister-in-law, Mary Anne, and her son John Derrick.  Josie and John Derrick are the youngest cousins, and this was a fun outing for them together.  This farm does a great job of having a lot of activities for younger kids to do.
If John Derrick's glasses were tinted, they'd look like the Men in Black.

Silly cousins!
This scarecrow only had 1 button eye.  When Josie sat down beside it, she closed one of her eyes too.  Silly girl!
